Welcome to infoMoris ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at infomoris.com and our Android application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. If you create an account we collect your email address, display name, and profile picture via Google Sign-In or email/password registration (powered by Firebase Authentication).
User-generated content. Comments, reactions, and any content you submit are stored on our servers and associated with your account.
Usage data. We may collect anonymous analytics such as page views, referral sources, device type, and browser information to improve the Service.
Local storage. We use your browser's local storage (IndexedDB / localStorage) to cache articles, preferences (language, font size, theme), and session tokens. This data stays on your device.
We do not use traditional tracking cookies for advertising. The Service uses:
We rely on the following third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies:
infoMoris aggregates news articles from publicly available RSS feeds of Mauritian media outlets. We do not author, verify, or endorse any third-party content. All copyrights belong to their respective owners. If you believe any content infringes your rights, please contact us and we will promptly address it.
External links within articles may lead to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
Cached articles on your device are retained according to your chosen preference (6 months, 2 years, or 5 years) and can be cleared at any time from Settings. Server-side account data (profile, comments, reactions) is retained until you delete your account.
You may delete your account from the Settings menu, which permanently removes all associated data from our servers.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, Cloudflare WAF protection, Firebase JWT-based authentication, and server-side input validation. However, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
